The octagonal church features an open tower and brick construction, with its original baptismal font and lectern preserved inside the main hall.
The church, completed in 1824, became notable when Theodorus van Gogh, father of painter Vincent van Gogh, served as pastor starting in 1882.
Vincent van Gogh created paintings of this church in 1884, expressing his connection to the building through detailed depictions of its architecture.
The religious building, located at Papenvoort 2 in Nuenen, opens its doors to visitors on selected Wednesdays and Sundays throughout the year.
The structure represents one of the earliest examples of Waterstaat churches, funded by the Dutch government in the nineteenth century.
