Huis Kamphuizen

Huis Kamphuizen is a manor house in Oud-Zevenaar featuring a symmetrical facade, tall windows, and a surrounding moat set within four hectares of grounds. The entire estate includes maintained gardens and sits at Babberichseweg 86.

The house was built in 1929 on land that previously belonged to the Den Wildenborch estate. Over the years it changed hands multiple times, with its roots tracing back to the original Camphuysen farm.

The Camphuysen coat of arms appears in carved details throughout the interiors, marking the connection to Dutch nobility. These ornamental features link the rooms to the family's heritage and social standing.

The estate spreads across spacious grounds with maintained gardens that are easy to explore on foot. Visitors should expect uneven terrain and damp areas near the moat.

The grounds contain a small Jewish cemetery, adding an unexpected layer of religious and historical meaning to the estate. This presence speaks to a former Jewish community that was connected to the property.
