Huize Babberich

Huize Babberich is a mansion in Zevenaar featuring a main building and wings arranged in a U-shape with a central projection and pediment on the south side. The property is surrounded by an English landscape park and includes a preserved stone dovecote.

The estate was first recorded in 1363 as Kasteel Babberich, but the current mansion was built in 1786 when Johan Philip Anton de Nerée constructed it using materials from its medieval predecessor. This rebuilding preserved the site's history within its new architectural form.

The interior displays Louis XVI style details that reflect late 18th-century Dutch architectural tastes, with a grand staircase and ornamental fireplace mantle as focal points.
