Mondo Verde, Landgraaf

Mondo Verde is a theme park in Landgraaf spanning 25 hectares, offering international gardens, animal exhibits, and entertainment attractions centered around the historic Strijthagen Castle. The grounds blend green spaces with attractions and create distinct areas to explore.

The park opened in 2002 after three years of construction, integrating the historic Strijthagen Castle and surrounding grounds into its design. The site was developed based on the idea of collecting different garden styles in one place.

The gardens throughout the grounds showcase landscaping from different countries such as China, Italy, and Australia, where visitors experience distinct styles while walking through. You see how people in other parts of the world design and use their outdoor spaces.

Visitors should wear comfortable shoes as the grounds are large and require substantial walking. The park ticket includes unlimited food and beverages throughout the day, so you can eat and drink without extra costs.

The park is based on the story of a castle owner who traveled worldwide collecting garden designs, which were later brought together in a collection called Jardineum. This personal motivation created an unusual concept for an amusement park.
