Hupsel

Hupsel is a hamlet in Berkelland, a municipality in the eastern Netherlands. The settlement sits in a rural farming region located between the towns of Groenlo and Eibergen, surrounded by open countryside and agricultural fields.

Early human settlement in the medieval period left traces confirmed through archaeological findings in the southern part of the area. In the early 1900s, drilling operations were conducted to search for coal and salt deposits, but the resources were located too deep to be practical.

The settlement maintains strong agricultural traditions, with local farms and the Scholte van Hupsel farmhouse representing central elements of community life.

The hamlet sits in open countryside with clear sight lines and can be easily explored on foot or by bicycle. There are few shops or facilities here, so visitors should focus on enjoying the surrounding rural landscape.
