Kloveniersdoelen, Former gildhouse and shooting range in Amsterdam, Netherlands

The Kloveniersdoelen complex contained buildings for local militia members who practiced with arquebuses at its dedicated shooting facilities.

Built in 1382 near Dam Square and relocated in 1520, the building received a classical style extension in 1638 with an 18-meter banquet hall.

Rembrandt's painting The Night Watch was originally displayed in the great hall of Kloveniersdoelen, depicting members of the civic guard.

The structure no longer exists in its original form, as the nineteenth-century Doelen Hotel now occupies the location at Nieuwe Doelenstraat.

Marie de' Medici and Czar Peter the Great visited this location to watch fireworks over the Amstel river from the building's windows.
