Het Reelaer

Het Reelaer is a manor estate in Tijenraan with around 250 hectares of forest and pasture on gently rolling land between Heino and Raalte. The main house is surrounded by several outbuildings, including stables, a coach house, and storage structures, with forest trails available for walking.

The property dates back to 1430, when it was documented as a fief under the Bishop of Utrecht before later passing to the States of Overijssel. The current building was constructed between 1911 and 1913 and gained national monument status in 1978.

The building can be viewed from outside, and the forest trails around the estate are freely accessible for walking and exploring. Good footwear is recommended since the terrain is rolling and paths can become muddy depending on the season.

Inside the estate is a central hall surrounded by several formal rooms, including a dining room, drawing rooms, a gentlemen's room, and a library. This layout shows how a wealthy household was organized during the early 20th century.
