Scots International Church, Presbyterian church in Stadsdriehoek, Rotterdam, Netherlands
Scots International Church is a Presbyterian church in the Stadsdriehoek area, built in 1952 following modern reconstruction design principles. The building features a bell tower on its roof, accommodates approximately 300 people, and displays stained glass windows throughout its interior.
The original building was destroyed in 1940 during wartime, leading to the need for reconstruction. Architect Meischke designed the replacement structure that opened in September 1952.
The congregation brings together people from different backgrounds who gather for English-language worship. The building serves as a meeting point for an international community seeking shared spiritual practice.
A public garden surrounds the freestanding building, creating a peaceful space to spend time outdoors. Visitors can easily access the church from the street and explore the surrounding area at leisure.
The building displays a large mosaic spanning about 30 square meters on its exterior walls. This artistic feature gives the modern structure a distinctive visual character that visitors often overlook.
