Martinuskerk, Gothic Revival church in Voorburg, Netherlands
The Martinuskerk features a cruciform basilica layout with a narrow choir surrounded by an ambulatory and a tower with profiled niches and gables.
The current church building, designed by architect Evert Margry and completed by his brother Albert, was consecrated in 1893 following earlier structures from medieval times.
The church received the designation of Rijksmonument, acknowledging its architectural and historical importance within the Dutch national heritage preservation system.
The mechanical tower clock, manufactured by B. Eijsbouts around 1920, underwent modifications to incorporate electric winding for improved timekeeping functionality.
The interior exhibits polished granite columns with leaf capitals, while its pillars, arches, and ribbed vaults maintain clean architectural lines against plastered walls.
