De Wolkenkrabber, Art Deco residential tower at Victorieplein, Netherlands
The 40-meter-tall structure features twelve floors with symmetrical facades covered in yellow-brown bricks and horizontal balconies throughout its exterior walls.
Constructed between 1930 and 1932, this residential building marked the first high-rise apartment complex in Amsterdam, designed by architect Jan Frederik Staal.
The building exemplifies the Amsterdam School architectural movement, integrating modern designs with traditional Dutch construction methods and materials.
Located at Victorieplein 45, the building contains 24 apartments across its floors, with two commercial spaces situated on the ground level.
The structure incorporates advanced features for its time, including garbage chutes, central heating systems, and electric bells in every residential unit.
