Landgoed Schothorst

The Schothorst Estate features extensive gardens, wooded areas, and a central building called Het Groene Huis that serves as an environmental education center.

The estate was established in 1780, and during the mid-19th century, a villa named Schothorst was constructed as the main residence on the property.

The Groene Huis hosts exhibitions, lectures, and educational programs focused on nature conservation and environmental sustainability for local schools and community members.

Visitors can explore designated walking paths, themed gardens, a natural playground, an observatory, a beekeeping center, and a medieval farm reconstruction.

A two-and-a-half-meter stainless steel sundial stands in the grounds, precisely aligned with Earth's axis to indicate both time and seasonal dates.
