Naviduct Krabbersgat

The Naviduct Krabbersgat is a lock and aqueduct system that allows boats to travel under the N307 motorway while moving between different water levels. The structure has two separate channels that enable vessels to pass through in both directions.

This lock complex was built to improve connections between the Markermeer and IJsselmeer, allowing ships to safely pass under the modern motorway route. The project demonstrated Dutch engineering solutions for waterway transport in a densely developed landscape.

This engineering structure represents the Dutch expertise in water management, demonstrating their technical capabilities in creating efficient maritime transportation systems.

This waterway operates around the clock and boat operators can coordinate their passage through VHF Channel 22 with the control station. It helps to plan your passage ahead of time, especially if traveling with larger vessels.

The design allows ships to pass under a motorway in a single passage while moving between water levels, combining two engineering challenges in one structure. This type of solution exists in only a few places worldwide.
