Fort bij Marken-Binnen, Military fortress of Defence Line of Amsterdam in Markenbinnen, Netherlands.
The concrete fortress contains multiple structures designed to accommodate 300 soldiers and protect the access point formed by the Markervaart waterway.
Constructed between 1899 and 1905, the fort incorporated a specialized liniedike in the Starnmeer polder that functioned as a water barrier during flooding operations.
The fort exemplifies Dutch military engineering with its model A design, representing early 20th-century defensive architecture within the UNESCO World Heritage site.
The facility currently serves as a Regional Fire Brigade Training Centre, providing specialized training programs for firefighters and emergency response personnel.
The engineering shed, removed in 1940, was reconstructed in 2007 following original architectural plans from the fortress construction period.
