Odapark, park in the Netherlands
Odapark is an expansive park situated on gently rolling sandy ground at the edge of Venray in the Netherlands. It features approximately 60 sculptures from international artists, a historic tea house at its center that hosts rotating exhibitions of contemporary work, and well-maintained pathways that invite easy exploration.
The grounds were established in 1899 after the Ursuline Sisters operated a girls' boarding school named Jerusalem on the site. When the municipality of Venray acquired it in the 1980s, it opened to the public and gradually transformed into an art-focused space.
The name Odapark refers to Saint Oda, the patron saint of Venray, chosen when the grounds were established as a spiritual retreat. This heritage shapes how people use the space today, often seeking moments of reflection while walking among the sculptures and trees.
The park is easily accessible by car with ample parking, including charging stations for electric bikes, and the grounds are wheelchair-friendly with paved pathways throughout. The central tea house provides public restrooms and serves as a helpful information point for visitors.
Artists are invited to create works in public spaces throughout the grounds, allowing the collection to continuously grow and shift. Visitors frequently discover hidden sculptures during walks, making each visit feel fresh and unexpected.
