Zuiderstrandtheater, Concert hall and theater in Scheveningen, Netherlands.
Zuiderstrandtheater is a concert hall and theater in Scheveningen with modern architecture and large windows facing the North Sea coast. The building contains two performance spaces for different types of shows with generous natural light throughout.
The facility opened in 2015 and served until 2021 as a temporary venue for dance companies and orchestras during construction elsewhere. After closing its doors at the seaside location, the building was eventually relocated to another city.
The venue served as a gathering place for contemporary dance and classical music performances that drew audiences from across the region. Both main performance halls became known for hosting companies and orchestras that shaped the cultural life of the area.
The theater sits along the Scheveningen coast and offers good sightlines from most seats in both halls. Visitors should arrive early since parking is limited and the area gets crowded, especially on weekends.
The building was intentionally designed from the start to be completely dismantled and moved to a different location. This flexibility allowed the city of Oss to purchase the entire structure and repurpose it as a theater in their own city.
