Robecotoren, Office tower at Coolsingel, Rotterdam, Netherlands
The Robecotoren is an office building on Coolsingel in Rotterdam with 21 floors and a height of about 95 meters. It features a black exterior with stainless steel window frames and is clad in Arctic Green Norwegian stone, giving the surface a refined textured appearance.
Architect Wim Quist designed the building in 1988 and it was completed in 1991. The German insurance company Allianz took over the building in 2020 as their headquarters and renamed it.
The building's name comes from Robeco, the investment company that made it their headquarters when it opened. Its dark exterior and modern design stand out noticeably among the older structures nearby in this part of the city.
The building is located near Rotterdam Central Station and is therefore easy to reach by public transport. The interior provides various work spaces and meeting areas for visitors and workers.
The Arctic Green Norwegian stone was specially selected for the cladding and creates a rare material combination in Rotterdam's architecture. This choice gives the building a distinctive visual quality that sets it apart from other modern structures in the city.
