Harstad Municipality

Harstad Municipality extends across 445 square kilometers on Hinnøya island, between Andfjorden and Vågsfjorden, with a population of 25,056 residents.

The municipality emerged from Trondenes in 1904 with 1,246 residents and underwent several territorial mergers, including the latest annexation of Bjarkøy in 2013.
