Aulestad, Artist's home museum in Follebu, Norway.
The preserved residence contains original furnishings and personal items throughout its rooms, presenting the living environment of Nobel laureate Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson and his family.
Following Karoline Bjørnson's death in 1934, the manor became part of The Sandvig Collections at Lillehammer and opened its doors as a museum in 1935.
The grand barn houses exhibitions about Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's literary works, including displays of his personal wagons and artworks by Jacob Weidemann.
The museum maintains different seasonal schedules, operating from 11:00 to 16:00 in early summer and 10:00 to 17:00 during midsummer, with weekend-only openings in September.
The residence maintains such authenticity in its preservation that visitors experience the sensation of the Bjørnson family having momentarily stepped away from their daily activities.
