Rudsbygd

Rudsbygd is a rural area in Lillehammer Municipality that extends across three sections: Baklia west of road 255, Midtbygda along the road, and Øverbygda toward the east and north. The district is home to around 600 residents and includes Buvollen school and kindergarten facilities.

The area was originally part of Fåberg municipality before being incorporated into Lillehammer through an administrative merger. This territorial change reshaped the local governance boundaries permanently.

The local newspaper Siste Post circulates three to four times annually, connecting residents and maintaining community engagement throughout the district.

As a rural residential area, Rudsbygd offers visitors a quiet setting with stable infrastructure for families. The district is easily accessible and maintains the necessary public services for a comfortable stay.

The local sports club Rudsbygd IL organizes an annual winter ski race called Rudsbygdrennet that draws children aged 8 to 16 at Buvollen school. The competition has become a fixture in the district's community calendar.
