St. Hallvard's Church and Monastery

The structure consists of three sections including monastery, parish offices, and church arranged around a circular central nave with brick and concrete walls.

The original St. Hallvard Cathedral served as the religious center of eastern Norway for 500 years until a fire in 1624 led to its abandonment.

The building functions as the primary place of worship for Norway's largest Roman Catholic parish, carrying forward religious traditions in a modern architectural setting.

Visitors can reach the church by taking bus 37 from downtown Oslo to Politihuset or walking from the Tøyen and Grønland neighborhoods.

The interior features an inverted dome suspended from the ceiling, while the height of the church room gradually decreases toward the roof.
