Bergen City Hall, Administrative building in Bergen, Norway
The Bergen City Hall reaches 51 meters in height and contains 14 floors of municipal offices constructed with textured concrete surfaces.
Architect Erling Viksjø won the design competition in 1953, but construction continued until completion in 1974 due to technical considerations.
The interior design maintains elements of 1960s Scandinavian style while incorporating modern workspace solutions for government personnel.
Meeting spaces within the building carry names of existing and former post offices in Bergen, reflecting each district's population size.
The renovation process utilized Viksjø's patented natural concrete technique to maintain the original architectural characteristics of the structure.
