The Rjukandefossen waterfall drops 18 meters through a narrow gorge, creating two distinct cascades fed by the Mørkedøla river in Buskerud region.
The waterfall has shaped the natural landscape of Hemsedal Municipality for centuries, forming deep potholes and carving paths through the Norwegian terrain.
Local residents maintain the trails and suspension bridge near the waterfall, preserving access to this natural formation for future generations.
Visitors can reach the waterfall via a 200-meter marked path from the parking area opposite the camping site, leading to multiple viewing platforms.
The twin waterfalls create different patterns throughout the seasons, with July offering the strongest water flow due to snow melting from Hemsedal fell.
