Hausmanns bru

Hausmanns Bru extends over Akerselva River with a 28-meter span, featuring cast iron construction and detailed architectural elements from the 19th century.

The bridge, completed in 1892 by Christiania Municipal Road Administration, underwent expansion to six lanes in 1986 while maintaining its original railings.

The structure bears the name of Lieutenant General Fredrik Ferdinand Hausmann and represents early Norwegian engineering achievements in urban infrastructure development.

The bridge serves as a central connection point between different districts of Oslo, linking the former Fjerdingen area with the Grønland neighborhood.

The cast iron structure incorporates decorative elements and maintains a 16-meter main span, demonstrating period-specific industrial craftsmanship.
