Kristparken, Public park and heritage site in Oslo, Norway
Kristparken is a public park and former cemetery in central Oslo with walking paths, benches, and various recreational facilities. The grounds feature outdoor fitness equipment, ping-pong tables, chess areas, and two large slides that descend from Grubbegata street.
The grounds originally served as a burial place for a church established in 1654 and used for burials until 1924. Following the cemetery's closure, the site transformed into a public park after 1964.
The site takes its name from the former Christ Church and serves as a community gathering place where neighbors meet, relax, and attend local events together. The green spaces create an informal meeting point for the neighborhood.
The park is freely accessible and offers year-round activities with plenty of space to walk and rest. In winter, the multi-sport court transforms into an ice skating area, while other facilities remain available throughout the seasons.
The winter ice rink uses specialized noise-reducing rubber flooring that allows various activities during the cold season. This detail makes it a place that transforms notably depending on the time of year.
