Alnaparken, park in Oslo municipality, Norway
Alnaparken is a park in the Alna district of Oslo that runs alongside the Alna River. It features walking and cycling paths, a volleyball court with sand, a frisbee golf course with eighteen fixed hoops, and several benches for sitting near the water.
The land functioned as farmland until 1958, with cattle grazing in the area and a dirt road called Nedre Fureset leading to the river. In 2001, a section of the river was improved with a small dam that now serves as a habitat for frogs and newts.
The park is easy to explore on foot or by bicycle thanks to established paths that run through the area, with benches positioned at several spots for rest. Although the park sits near busy streets, the wooded sections create a quieter atmosphere that blocks out city noise.
A riding center opened in 2005 where visitors can ride horses and learn how to handle the animals. This unexpected facility in an urban setting offers an alternative way to experience the park and adds a unique recreational element.
