Høybråten Church, Lutheran church in Grorud Valley, Oslo, Norway
Høybråten Church is a brick and cement building designed by architect Georg Greve, located in the Stovner borough surrounded by one of Oslo's largest cemeteries. The interior features an altar decorated with a mosaic by artist Per Vigeland and a 1974 organ from Jørgensens Orgelfabrikk positioned in the upper loft.
The building began as a burial chapel in 1929 and was converted into a church in 1932. It received parish church status in 1966, establishing its role as a full religious community center.
Per Vigeland created the mosaic decorating the altar and altarpiece in 1955, adding artistic elements to the religious space.
The church has seating capacity for 168 people and sits within a large cemetery that provides easy navigation and peaceful surroundings. The main entrance is clearly marked at the front of the building.
A memorial beside the church honors those from the local area who died in World War II, unveiled by sculptor Dagfinn Hermansen in 1947. This monument remains an important place of remembrance for the community.
