Stortings plass, Public square at Karl Johans gate, Oslo, Norway
The granite paved square stands opposite to the Norwegian Parliament building, featuring three prominent buildings and a central bronze statue of Christian Krohg.
The square emerged during the development of Karl Johans gate between 1841 and 1843, replacing two large blocks previously intersected by an alley called Krøllen.
The statue of painter Christian Krohg, created by sculptors Asbjørg Borgfelt and Per Hurum in 1960, stands as a tribute to the artist who maintained an atelier in Centralgården.
Tostrups uteservering restaurant operates during summer months, while the square connects to Lille Grensen and Arbeidergata streets, forming a central urban junction.
The square gained the nickname Dasslokket due to a former public underground toilet facility that operated beneath its surface.
