Tellevik kystfort, Coastal fortification in Klauvaneset, Norway
Tellevik coastal fort is a fortified position on a headland near Bergen built to defend the Norwegian coast. It contains underground bunkers, living quarters, and storage structures integrated into the landscape.
The fort was built from 1940 by German forces as a coastal defense position and remained occupied until 1945. Construction and maintenance of the fortifications required significant labor throughout the war period.
The name comes from the coastal inlet where the fort stands. You can see how the position served as a watchtower over the shipping routes through the fjord.
The fort is easy to reach from Bergen with parking near the entrance and nearby bus stops. Paths across the grounds are accessible, though coastal weather can change quickly.
A memorial at the site honors Norwegian seafarers who lost their lives in the fjord between 1940 and 1945. It marks the sacrifice of those who died during wartime transport operations.
