Terningen Arena, Mehrzweckhalle in der norwegischen Stadt Elverum
Terningen Arena is a large multi-purpose hall in Elverum covering about 24,000 square meters (258,000 square feet). The facility includes a sports hall, gymnastics gym, concert venue, library, cafe, and office spaces for various organizations and institutions.
Construction started in January 2010 and was completed by the end of that year, with official opening in January 2011. In 2016, the building became home to departments from the local college Høgskolen i Hedmark, which later merged into Høgskolen i Innlandet.
The arena is named after the cube-shaped building design, which reflects its form and function. It serves as a cultural hub where the community gathers for concerts, sports, and public events that bring people together.
The facility is easily accessible at Hamarveien 112 and features clear signage that guides visitors to different areas and activities. The welcoming layout makes it simple to find what you are looking for, whether visiting for sports, events, or other purposes.
The building was created as part of the "Folkehelsebyen" (Health City) initiative, designed to encourage residents to be more physically active and engaged with their community. This health-focused philosophy continues to influence how the space is used today and shapes the daily rhythm of the area.
