Alaminos, Administrative division in Pangasinan, Philippines
Alaminos is a city in Pangasinan province comprised of 39 barangays spread across a coastal territory. It sits roughly 248 kilometers southwest of Manila and approximately 42 kilometers from the provincial capital of Lingayen.
The settlement developed from the Casborran barangay in neighboring Bolinao and became independent in 1747. It received its current name in 1872, honoring Governor-General Juan Alaminos y Vivar.
The Galila Hundred Islands Festival draws residents and visitors each year to celebrate the coastal landscape and island formations that define the area. Local communities use this gathering to express their connection to the maritime environment.
Access to the city works best via main roads from the provincial capital or through coastal routes, which simplifies navigation. Visitors should note that weather can be unpredictable during the rainy season from June through November.
The Hundred Islands National Park with roughly 124 different islands stretches along the coast and forms a remarkable natural mosaic. This island group stands as one of the most notable geographic features in the entire region.
