Puerto Princesa River

The national park contains an underground river system extending 8.2 kilometers through limestone caves before flowing into the South China Sea.

The area received UNESCO World Heritage Site designation in 1999 due to its geological formations and extensive network of underground passages.

Indigenous communities near the park maintain traditional practices of sustainable resource management passed down through generations within the protected zones.

Visitors need to obtain permits from the Underground River Booking Office at Puerto Princesa City Coliseum before accessing the cave system.

The cave network features multiple chambers with distinct geological formations, including the Italian Chamber measuring 360 meters in length.
