Secret Lagoon

Secret Lagoon is a small pool of turquoise water surrounded by vertical limestone cliffs, accessible only through a narrow opening in the rock wall. The entrance is tight enough that visitors must navigate carefully to pass through into the interior.

Local fishermen from Miniloc Island used this sheltered water body as refuge during storms across multiple generations. The lagoon remained a hidden place known primarily to the local population for a long time.

The lagoon represents the traditional relationship between Filipino coastal communities and their connection to hidden water sanctuaries across Palawan province.

Visiting requires joining Tour A from El Nido, which means planning ahead is necessary. Water shoes are helpful for walking safely over coral, and the best time to visit is between November and April.

The circular structure is entirely enclosed by vertical rock walls, creating a natural swimming pool with sheltered conditions. This complete enclosure produces still water that contrasts sharply with the open sea surrounding the entrance area.
