San Sebastian Church, Minor Catholic basilica in Quiapo, Philippines.
The interior features steel columns and ceilings painted to replicate marble and jasper, creating an optical illusion throughout the building.
The current basilica replaces multiple wooden structures destroyed by fires and earthquakes between 1621 and 1880.
Local artists Lorenzo Rocha and Lorenzo Guerrero decorated the interior with five Gothic Revival retables enhancing the religious space.
The basilica stands at coordinates 14.599444 latitude and 120.988889 longitude, near the eastern end of Recto Avenue.
This steel structure, manufactured in Belgium and assembled in the Philippines in 1891, represents the only metallic church in the country.
