Casa Real

Casa Real in Lingayen is a colonial-era building with thick stone and brick walls and a portico supported by Doric columns. It now operates as the Banaan Pangasinan Provincial Museum, where visitors can see regional historical artifacts and collections on display.

Built in the 1840s, this structure served as the provincial government seat under Spanish colonial rule. In 1918, the administration moved to a new capitol building, ending the structure's role as the main seat of power.

The name reflects its past as the royal seat of colonial governance and local power. Today visitors can see how the architecture and spatial arrangement tell the story of administrative authority and regional importance.

Daylight provides the best conditions for viewing the architectural details and displays throughout the building. Visitors can move at their own pace through the rooms to explore the historical collections at comfort.

The staircase features granite stones from Piedra China that originally served as ballast in Chinese trading vessels. These repurposed stones reveal connections to the region's early maritime commerce and trade relationships.
