Binondo–Intramuros Bridge, Steel bridge across Pasig River in Manila, Philippines.
The Binondo-Intramuros Bridge is a modern four-lane steel structure that crosses the Pasig River in Manila. It connects Muelle de Binondo on the north side with Solana Street and Riverside Drive in the Intramuros district.
Construction began in July 2018 and was completed in April 2022, representing a significant infrastructure project for the city. The bridge was made possible through a major investment partnership between China and the Philippines.
The bridge links two districts with distinct identities: Intramuros with its Spanish colonial architecture and Binondo with its long-standing Chinese heritage. Walking across, you witness how these two communities have shaped the city's fabric differently.
The bridge features wide pedestrian walkways alongside the vehicle lanes, making it safe and easy to cross on foot. Early morning or late afternoon crossing times offer the least crowded experience for both pedestrians and drivers.
The bridge was designed to solve a long-standing transportation problem in this part of the river, where travel between the two districts once required lengthy detours. Today it moves thousands of commuters daily through a previously difficult crossing.
