Rasul Barrage, Water control barrage in Mandi Bahauddin District, Pakistan
The Rasul Barrage spans across the Jhelum River, featuring gates that regulate water flow and maintain ecological balance in the Punjab region.
Completed in 1968, this infrastructure replaced an earlier British-built barrage, marking a new era in Pakistan's water management capabilities.
The barrage area serves as a gathering point for local fishermen who depend on the river's resources for their traditional fishing practices.
With a discharge capacity of 24,070 cubic meters per second, the barrage directs water through the Rasul-Qadirabad link canal for regional irrigation.
The adjacent Rasul Hydel Power Station generates 22 megawatts of electricity while supporting irrigation for 1.45 million acres of farmland.
