Tilla Jogian, Ancient mountain temple complex in Dina Tehsil, Pakistan.
Tilla Jogian is a mountain complex in the Salt Range of Punjab, rising approximately 975 meters above sea level with expansive views across the Pothohar plateau toward the Jhelum River valley.
This complex served as the primary center for Hindu ascetics in Punjab until 1947, when the last resident priest departed during the Partition of India and Pakistan.
The mountain holds spiritual meaning for different faiths, as Guru Nanak reportedly meditated here for an extended period, while Hindu ascetics created early medieval Punjabi texts in this place.
Several hiking routes lead to the summit, including paths starting from Rohtas Fort and the Sanghoi area near the Jhelum River. Routes vary in difficulty and duration, so plan accordingly for your visit.
The abandoned site contains temple structures with multiple bathing areas and water systems, including small dams that show how people once managed water on the mountain. These water features remain surprisingly intact despite centuries of neglect.
