Hotel Admiralspalast in Zabrze

Hotel Admiralspalast is an Art Nouveau structure on Wolności Street 305, defined by a prominent dome spanning 11 meters in diameter and rounded corners. Inside are 48 rooms with running water, while the ground floor contains a restaurant, cafe, and ballroom seating 500 guests.

Construction began in 1924 after the previous Fleischer Hotel collapsed, requiring a new foundation with thick concrete slabs for stability. Completion marked a fresh start for this location in the city.

The building displays decorative reliefs on its side elevations showing human heads representing the five continents, reflecting the international spirit of that era. These ornaments tell of a time when the city saw itself as a cosmopolitan place.

Access to the building is from Wolności Street, where the prominent dome helps with orientation. Visitors should note that this is a protected monument with potential restrictions on access to certain areas.

A rooftop garden with capacity for 350 guests opened on December 25, 1927, offering an elevated entertainment space in the city center. This early choice to build a garden on the roof represented innovative urban planning for the 1920s.
