Krasiejów, Paleontological village in Opole Voivodeship, Poland
Located in southwestern Poland, Krasiejów spans across a valley with excavation sites containing numerous dinosaur fossils from the Late Triassic period.
The village dates back to the 13th century and underwent multiple territorial changes, including periods under Bohemian, Prussian, and German administration before returning to Poland.
Two paleontological museums in Krasiejów present extensive collections of Triassic tetrapods, fossilized plants, and prehistoric aquatic species for scientific research.
The JuraPark complex features more than 200 dinosaur models, a 3D time tunnel, educational workshops, and recreational facilities including a beach area.
Scientists discovered complete skeletons of Silesaurus opolensis and Polonosuchus silesiacus at this location, establishing Krasiejów as a major European paleontological site.
