Gmina Żółkiewka

Gmina Żółkiewka is a rural administrative municipality in eastern Poland with Żółkiewka village as its central seat. The territory encompasses several smaller villages scattered across agricultural landscapes.

Żółkiewka received town status in 1702 but was reclassified as a village in 1868. This change reflected shifts in the region's administrative organization over time.

The Church of Saint Lawrence shapes the religious life of the communities here and displays monumental paintings from the 18th century. These artworks reflect the artistic traditions that took root in the region.

The gmina lies southwest of Krasnystaw and southeast of Lublin, making it reachable from larger urban centers. Visitors should expect rural roads and note that seasonal conditions can affect accessibility.

The paintings in the church were created by Gabriel Sławiński in 1776 and depict religious scenes with striking visual power. These works rank among the most notable examples of church art in the region from that era.
