Situated in southwestern Poland, Polanica-Zdrój extends across 17 square kilometers of land at an elevation of 420 meters in the Kłodzko Valley.
The mineral springs of Polanica-Zdrój became a health destination in 1828 when Józef Gromls constructed the first pump room and wooden bathhouses.
The town maintains a chess tradition through the annual Akiba Rubinstein Memorial tournament, which has taken place since 1963.
The Central Park serves as the main promenade, connecting the Wielka Pieniawa Pump Room to the Obelisk of Adam Mickiewicz through landscaped gardens.
