Ropczyce, Administrative center in Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland
Ropczyce lies in the Wielopolka River valley between residential neighborhoods and commercial districts. The town spreads across several areas connected by local roads and paths.
King Casimir the Great granted city rights on March 3, 1362. This event made the place an important settlement in southeastern Poland.
The town developed a strong canvas weaving tradition during the 15th century. This craft shaped the character of the place and made it a recognized production center in the region.
The town lies on the E40 Highway and has regular rail service to other regions. This makes arriving by car or train straightforward.
Polish kings visited this place frequently during the Middle Ages for hunting. Its location near the Sandomierz Wilderness made it a favored hunting ground for royalty.
