Chojnów

Chojnów is a town in Lower Silesia that stretches along both banks of the Skora River. The municipal area is shaped by meadows and low hills, with the town center and its market square forming the core.

The town received its charter in 1333 and became the seat of a local duchy that lasted until the mid-15th century. Over the following centuries, significant crafts developed here, particularly cloth production.

The market square displays signs of the town's handcraft past and invites people to linger. The way local shops and cafés use the public space reflects daily life in a smaller town.

The town sits about 18 kilometers west of Legnica and is well connected by rail and road networks. Visitors will find a small, manageable layout that is easy to explore on foot.

A weaver statue stands in the market square, recalling the textile craft traditions that flourished in this region for generations. This figure shows how important the weaving trade was to local identity and economy.
