Kamieńczyk Waterfall

Kamieńczyk Waterfall, Waterfall in Szklarska Poręba, Poland

Description

Kamieńczyk Waterfall drops in three distinct cascades for a total of 27 meters within Karkonosze National Park. The water flows through a narrow gorge carved by granite walls.

History

Walloon miners excavated a cave behind the middle cascade centuries ago while searching for amethysts and gemstones. These past mining activities shaped the gorge into the site visitors explore today.

Culture

The granite walls and natural formations of Kamieńczyk Gorge served as a filming location for The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

Practical

The waterfall is reached via a marked hiking trail that is well signposted and regularly maintained. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes and bring weather-appropriate clothing, as the path can become wet and slippery.

Did you know?

Behind the gorge lies a small cave known as the Golden Grotto that visitors can explore during their visit. The location has served as a filming site for major film productions, attracting movie enthusiasts who recognize scenes from the big screen.
