Located in Wałbrzych County, Głuszyca extends across mountainous terrain near the Czech border, 69 kilometers southwest of Wrocław.
First documented as Wustendorf around 1300, the settlement developed through different periods, including Saxon miners' arrival following the Hussite Wars.
