Głuszyca is a municipality in Lower Silesia situated across mountainous terrain close to the Czech border. The settlement spreads roughly 69 kilometers southwest of Wrocław within Wałbrzych County.
The settlement was first recorded around 1300 as Wustendorf and underwent significant transformations over time. Saxon miners arrived following the Hussite Wars and became instrumental in shaping its later growth.
