Niechorze, Coastal village in West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland
Niechorze is a coastal village in West Pomeranian Voivodeship situated between the Baltic Sea and Liwia Łuża Lake. The area features a tall cliff and wide sandy beaches that border the shoreline.
The village originated from two separate settlements called Klein Horst and Gross Horst that merged in 1936. After World War II, it was renamed to its current Polish name.
The Fishery Museum displays photographs and objects from maritime traditions, showing how important fishing was to the people living here. You can see exhibits about daily life connected to the sea and its resources.
The village is accessible by bus from several cities including Szczecin, Gryfice, Kolobrzeg, Poznan, and Trzebiatowo. Summer is the best season to visit, when weather conditions favor beach activities and outdoor exploration.
A park displays scaled models of every Polish lighthouse at 1:10 size, showing the history of maritime navigation along the coast. Visitors can explore these small replicas and learn about different types of lighthouses that guide ships on the Baltic Sea.
