Sędziszów Małopolski, Municipal center in Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland.
Sędziszów Małopolski is a town in Subcarpathian Voivodeship that spreads across an area divided into five districts. These districts sit in the transitional zone between the Sandomierz Basin and the Strzyżów Foothills.
The settlement received town privileges in 1483 from King Kazimierz Jagiellończyk and later developed as a trading center with weekly markets. This structure was solidified under the rule of the Odrowąż family starting from 1512.
The town sits in a region shaped by varied forests, where pine woodland in the north transitions to beech and fir forests in the southern hills. This natural diversity has influenced how people have settled and used the land throughout its history.
The town is well connected to major transportation routes and can be easily reached from north and south. Visitors here can find connections to larger cities and access to border regions.
The northern part contains the protected Zabłocie landscape area with two artificial lakes formed along the Tuszymka River. These reservoirs near Cierpisz and Ruda are important sites for birdwatching and trace the region's earlier industrial activity.
