Brdów

Brdow is a village in Greater Poland with a church and monastery complex at its center. The site includes both a substantial church structure and associated monastic buildings that form the focal point of this rural settlement.

The village first appeared in written records in 1136, and in 1436 a royal monastery was established here by King Wladyslaw III. The current church building dates to the 1700s and was constructed after earlier damage to the site.

The sanctuary here is centered around a venerated image that has drawn pilgrims for generations seeking spiritual connection. The combination of church and monastery creates a place where this religious devotion remains visible in daily worship and visitor behavior today.

Much of the original settlement was destroyed in the mid-1600s during military conflict, fundamentally reshaping what the village became afterward.
