Będzin County, Administrative division in Silesian Voivodeship, Poland
Będzin County is an administrative division in Silesian Voivodeship comprised of eight municipalities with varied characters. The territory includes both urban centers and rural communities that together form the regional structure.
The county received its current administrative form in 1999 as part of a nationwide reorganization of Polish local government boundaries. Before this change, the territory was part of Katowice Voivodeship until the administrative restructuring.
The region maintains strong connections to its industrial heritage through preserved structures and educational programs highlighting the development of the Silesian area.
The county seat of Będzin lies north of Katowice and is easily accessible by rail and road connections. Visitors can explore the various municipalities, which are connected by a well-developed transport network.
One municipality called Sławków forms a geographically separated part of the county, surrounded by other jurisdictions. This unusual arrangement resulted from administrative changes that took place later in 2002.
