Drobin is a municipality in Plock County within the Masovian Voivodeship that serves as an administrative center for the wider rural district. The area encompasses several small villages and hamlets spread across the landscape and linked by local roads.
The settlement began in the 12th century under Piast rule and gained town rights in 1511 during the Jagiellonian period. From this time forward, it developed into a regional administrative center in this part of Masovia.
The municipality serves as an administrative center for the surrounding rural communities, with the local football team Skra Drobin representing the sports tradition.
The town sits about 29 kilometers northeast of Plock and roughly 90 kilometers northwest of Warsaw. Access is by regional roads that connect it to other communities in the surrounding area.
During the German occupation in World War II, the town received the name Reichenfeld and a forced labor camp was established nearby. This period left a deep mark on local memory and history.
